Moissanite vs. Diamond

Is moissanite a "fake" diamond? No. Moissanite is its own mineral (silicon carbide), not a diamond simulant manufactured to imitate one. It has its own brilliance, fire and hardness, and we sell it as exactly what it is rather than dressing it up as something else.

How hard is moissanite? Moissanite rates 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale, just below diamond's 10, which makes it resistant to everyday scratching and suitable for rings worn daily, including engagement rings.

Does moissanite sparkle differently to a diamond? Moissanite has a higher refractive index than diamond, which gives it a slightly more colourful, fiery sparkle rather than diamond's whiter flash. Most people find the difference attractive rather than a compromise, but it is worth knowing before you buy.

Certification

Do your pieces come certified? Every centre stone of 5mm and above is GRA certified and arrives with its certificate of authenticity. See our Certification page for details on what that covers.

Metal & Hallmarking

What metals do you use? Our pieces are offered in 18K gold vermeil, 925 sterling silver, and platinum-finish options, depending on the collection. Each product page lists the exact metal for that piece.

Is the metal hallmarked? Precious metal components are stamped with their purity marking in line with standard Indian jewellery practice. If you need a specific hallmarking document for a particular piece, contact us before ordering and we'll confirm availability.

Sizing

How do I find my ring size? We recommend visiting a local jeweller for an accurate measurement, or using a printable ring sizer at home. See our Care & Sizing guide for more detail.

Can I exchange for a different size? Yes, in most cases — reach out to us at manihargems@gmail.com within 14 days of delivery and we'll walk you through the exchange.

Care

How do I clean my jewellery? Warm water, a few drops of mild dish soap, and a soft-bristled brush is all you need. Avoid chlorine, harsh chemicals and ultrasonic cleaners on plated pieces. Full instructions are on our Care page.
